General information

Infinitloop 2.0 is a system to visualize the story of things. It consists of a QR sitcker that is added to any object, and which allows to follow its track in a map. Thus we show fantastic stories of things and know their adventures; we make their life longer and avoid it becomes waste too early

An infinitloop object is made to last almost forever and make many people happy. It can have a short cycle use (wraps, bags, packagings, books,...) or to be used longer (records, toys, clothers or child stuff...).

Belangrijkste kenmerken

Inifnitloop is a sticker with a unique QR code that you can add to any object that you wish to share. This sticker turns your object into an infinitloop and allows its traceability with a smart phone if a check-in regristration is done at every exchange. A web platform allows to see the path of the different objects that are shared, thus seeing their circulation and new users.

¿What can I convert into an infinitloop?

  • The books I liked the most. ¿Why are there full of dust on my shelf?
  • My skis. It's been a long time since I used them!
  • The vinyl records I love. I do'nt have a record player any more!
  • The wine bottle bag someone offered me. For the next time I'm invited to a dinner.
  • My daughter's first bike. I'd love someone could make use of it!
  • A nice painting I had in the dinning room but since we moved it does not fit any more.
  • My son's clothes. I'd love to give it to someone and know who will use it
  • My grandmother's lamp. I'll never use it but maybe someone wants to repaint it and reuse it.

But ther can also be ready-made infinitloops. Their designers or creators want to make a difference in their products by adding the infintloop sticker because they wishe thir products last for ever, and know it will help to make them circulate and connect with a sensitive target.
A unique piece of furniture, a hand bag, a neclace or a pull-over which are full of stories.

We especially encourage its use among social organizations and small artisans who want to innovate. For example, this project involved both the Foundation Pare Manel (Barcelona) that manufacture wine bottle bags and CET Estel Tapia (Barcelona) with a prototype of the vegetables bag for shopping. But anyone else is welcome!

Waarom is dit belangrijk

With the infinitloop 2.0 project we want to boost the creativity and innovation capacity of the population to build a collaborative, sustainable and inclusive society. On one side you can turn anything that had been designed to be ephemeral or owned by someone for the rest of life, a traveler object. And also will may find new items designed to last forever and used by many people.

The project is aimed at people worldwide who find an interesting value:

  • Local craftsmen and artists of unique objects. Make your creations circulating from hand to hand and discover where they go. They can be in any corner of the planet, inifinitloop is a project of global reach.
  • Recyclers born and re-users. Manufacture, re-use and share items with friends and family, without loosing their track.
  • People with ideas. Put cool stuff into circulation and look how far they reach!
  • Freakies and techies. Enjoy with your smartphone viewing all tracks that things do through the world, discover the most unexpected thing turned it into an infinitloop :-)
  • Researchers. Analyze the behavior of the collaborative economy from data of objects reuse in informal settings.
  • Shops. Stop giving away garbage bags but give infinitloop bags to your customers.
  • Non-profit workshops or special workplaces and third sector organizations with social products who want to join infinitloop community to give even more value to their products.
  • Companies that want to give added value to their products and are committed to social responsibility.
  • Organizers of exchange markets who want to visualize the history of things that are exchanged.
  • Institutions and governments that want to promote circular economy and waste prevention.
